The three key factors for successful system implementations are;
1. Knowledge of your company’s business
2. Knowledge of the processes in your current system
3. Experience of the work flow in an implementation project.
If you have these prerequisites you have a great foundation for making the project a success.
A normal scenario after a decision to purchase a new financial system is to nominate an experienced employee from the finance department to be the local project manager. By doing so you have covered two out of three key factors. Sometimes the nominated employee also has experience from previous implementations. If that is the case you have the right person in charge of the project. If you lack that experience I would encourage you to obtain that experience externally.

In the process of recruiting a new business controller, accounting manager or financial director a solution can be to use a consultant until you have found the perfect person to employ.
Communication & Training
In a state of change (organization and system) people tend to be worried.
